Add Review/CommentConceived as a fantasy band by Lead Guitarist Leo Herrera and fueled into reality by the enthusiasm of friends and family members, Caravanserai is an eleven-year project of love and devotion. Originally a replication of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Santana's legendary early days, Caravanserai has grown to include material from all eras of Santana's 30-year history. Painstaking care has been taken in the recreation of early and new music performed by this band of journeymen from the San Francisco Bay Area. All the instrumentation used by Santana over the years are here, with some of the best musicians in the Bay Area.
Mambo Street performs old standards and favorites, but with a Latin twist on every song. They are an experienced group of San Francisco Mission District musicians who really have been performing Latin music in the SF Bay Area for years and therefore they perform it with skill and authenticity. They are a throwback to the late 60's and 70's when Latin Jazz and Latin Rock were at their most frenzied peak.
