Add Review/CommentSponsored by the San Mateo Public Library, the San Mateo Public Library Foundation, and the Latino Library Advisory Committee, the City of San Mateo presents a latino cultural spotlight, the Latino Film Festival. This week's feature is In the Time of the Butterflies. A true story based on Julia Alvarez' novel about sisters (Salma Hayek, Mia Maestro, Lumi Cavazos) in fierce opposition to General Leonidas Trujillo's (Edward James Olmos) Dominican Republic dictatorship. Found dead at the bottom of a cliff, it was reported "an accident."
