    Written by Maurice Sendak, the author and illustrator of Where the Wild Things Are and including music by the legendary Carole King, this lively musical follows a typical summer day in the life of several neighborhood friends. Self-proclaimed leader Rosie, the sassiest kid on her block, entertains everyone by directing and starring in an "Oscar-winning movie" based on the exciting, dramatic, funny (and slightly exaggerated) story of her life. The original recording of these songs has been called "the finest children's album ever made" and includes the very popular song "Chicken Soup with Rice".
