    American music is as varied as the people who call themselves Americans, but an underlying spirit of pride and optimism generally pervades. MCO unleashes this spirit with a tribute to jazz (the first truly American music), two world premieres of music reflecting a love of our natural surroundings, and an exuberant marimba concerto performed by “the future of percussion”, Lisa Pegher.
