Add Review/CommentFlight Explorers programs are half-day adventures into the wonders of aviation for elementary-aged children in Grades 1 through 5. Each session includes: an exclusive tour of the Museum’s Gallery, hands-on construction and flight testing of a model aircraft, a special flight simulation experience in the Flight Sim Zone, and special Flight Sim Zone pilot wings.
Sessions are scheduled during three-hour periods on weekends and holidays during regular Museum hours. A program fee of $30 per session ($25 for Members) must be paid; separate Museum admission is not required. Participants can choose from four different topics: Airplance Adventure, Shuttle Lab, Whirlybirds Away, and Wright Flight.
Wright Flight - Follow in the footsteps of Wilbur and Orville Wright as they invent the airplane. Make a detailed, flying model of a Wright Glider and take your place in the Flight Sim Zone for a recreation of the historic First Flight. It’s an incredible journey through aviation history!
