    Melvin Chen plays Paganini and Rachmaninoff in California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra's 1st Anniversary fundraising concert. Only a virtuoso with pronounced technical accomplishment would dare to tackle the concerto by Niccolo Paganini or Sergei Rachmaninoff. Melvin Chen, a Juilliard graduate with a double master’s degree in piano and violin, will take on both in the same evening. Chen will dazzle the Silicon Valley audience in an unusual presentation of extraordinary musicianship with a group of young talents from the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. It is a fundraising event for this one-year-old non-profit organization based in San Jose.
