    The Little Mermaid lives at the bottom of the sea with her father the Sea King and her older sisters. On her fifteenth birthday she ventures to the surface for her first look at the world above. She sees a ship with a handsome prince, and immediately falls in love with him. The Little Mermaid spends her days longing for the prince and wishing to be human. At last she goes to the Sea Witch, and trades her mermaid's tail for legs hoping to win the love of the prince and an immortal soul for herself. But many adventures await her on land. Hans Christian Andersen's bittersweet story comes to life through Lise la Cour's beautiful choreography danced by students from Ballet San Jose School and guest artists from the professional company.
