    A demonstration by Edith Sommers: Using The Hydraulic Press Learn how to - choose which materials to use with the press - make silhouette dies for use in the press - use the dies with out a press - use fold forms with the press - make pressed forms from steel armatures. Edith Sommer has been a goldsmith for over 40 years, creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry in her home studio. She is largely self-taught having taken many workshops with well-known goldsmiths, in addition to a summer at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and classes at San Jose State University. She continues to explore new techniques and develop adaptations of old ones. Her pieces have been in many galleries and museum shops. Edith is a founding member of the Gallery House cooperative in Palo Alto where her recent work is currently displayed.
