Repeating a formula that's proven successful in recent years, Trans-Siberian Orchestra has broken into two touring units for its annual holiday tour. The fifth Christmas Eve and Other Stories tour launches in mid-November, and runs through the holidays. One company handles shows in the East, while the other simultaneously covers the West.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra came into being when producer/songwriter Paul O'Neill and keyboardist Jon Olivia, both of progressive-metal group Savatage, wrote some Christmas songs in the mid-'90s. Those works eventually became the 1996 rock-opera album Christmas Eve and Other Stories.

The first Trans-Siberian Orchestra holiday tour, in 1999, comprised seven shows, and it has since grown into one of the top-drawing holiday tours in North America. The New York City-based group's current holiday shows feature a 60-piece orchestra and a full chorus, and its sound combines elements of rock, classical and Broadway. Trans-Siberian Orchestra puts on a great experience for any music fan. Families can enjoy the Sounds of the Season and get in the Holiday spirit. Rockers can enjoy the driving guitars and visual intensity of a classic rock concert. The players are all excellent musicians and they clearly enjoy what they do. They play off each other well and also play to the audience. This show is not to be missed!
