The spectacularly lighted Caltrain Holiday Train will return to the Peninsula for the 8th year during the weekend of December 6 and 7. The train will stop at the San Mateo Transit Center on Sunday, December 7, at 6:02 p.m. for a 20-minute show. There will be an on-board band and chorus to entertain, and Santa will get off the train to greet the kids and hand out candy canes. This free, family-oriented event draws thousands of visitors to train stations every year for a chance to sing along with live holiday music and meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and other holiday favorites, including Rudolph and Frosty. Visitors are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys and books to drop into toy barrels at stations. The Marine Corps Reserve and the Salvation Army will be on hand to collect toy donations. The Caltrain Holiday Train is not a passenger train. Visitors are invited to visit the stations and view the Holiday Train show, but are not permitted to board or ride on the train.

Location: San Mateo Transit Center, 1st Ave. & Main St., San Mateo, CA. 94401.
