Flight Explorers programs are half-day adventures into the wonders of aviation for elementary-aged children in Grades 1 through 5. Each session includes: an exclusive tour of the Museum’s Gallery, hands-on construction and flight testing of a model aircraft, a special flight simulation experience in the Flight Sim Zone, and special Flight Sim Zone pilot wings.

Sessions are scheduled during three-hour periods on weekends and holidays during regular Museum hours. Participants can choose from four different topics: Airplance Adventure, Shuttle Lab, Whirlybirds Away, and Wright Flight.

Airplane Adventure - Learn about the science of aerodynamics and the parts of an airplane. Build and fly a rubber-powered airplane and master the basics of pitch, roll and yaw in the Flight Sim Zone. It’s a fabulous introduction to aviation!
