The Burlingame Public Library presents a fim showing of City of Ember, a 2008 science fiction-fantasy film directed by Gil Kenan and based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Jeanne Duprau. For generations, the people of the City of Ember have flourished in an amazing world of glittering lights. But Ember's once powerful generator is failing ... and the great lamps that illuminate the city are starting to flicker.

Fans of the book and movie can meet the author Jeanne Duprau in person on May 17th at 2pm.
