    In the 1970’s and early 80’s, a series of articles titled “Signposts” was written for the San José Mercury News by Pat Loomis. The articles gave special insights into our street names and their relationship to early Santa Clara County pioneers. Many of the stories in the series were later made into two books, titled Signposts and Signposts II. In 2008, the Argonauts Historical Society partnered with the California Pioneers of Santa Clara County, History San José, and the Preservation Action Council of San José to reprint Signposts, Signposts II, plus five more streets from the “Signposts” series into a new book, Signposts Revisited. Pat Loomis will be onsite signing Signposts Revisited.
