The California Cowboys perform Country music for your listening and dancing pleasure. R. W. Smith and the California Cowboys deliver a powerful sound, with the clear punch of tight three-part harmonies. And such rowdy, foot stompin' original songs as We Ride' em We Rope' em and Double Shot of Hank, it's easy to see this band will always go over in a big way with any audience. As lead singer and song-writer, R.W. is the polished showman. He dances and jokes with the audience while delivering top billing entertainment. Together with drummer Hal Atkinson (CCMA’s Drummer of the year, 1994), guitar player Gary Potterton (producer of Grandma got run over by a Reindeer); bass player, Cary Atkinson; and legendary Steel Guitarist, Bobby Black; these fine musicians form one of California's most successful country-western bands. With a solid draw and non-stop show, promoters and sponsors know the Cowboys can fill the seats with cheering audiences.

The City of San Mateo’s signature summer event, 2009 Central Park Music Series provides you with memorable summer evenings of free live music. Whether you are looking to socialize with friends, get some much needed family time, or dance the night away, the 2009 season is sure to be a great time.

I was very happy to see there was something focused on our young adults. Everyone is so worried about teens and there hyphy cultural. All were well behaved and the music was great.

I was shocked to learn that the Green Party Booth submitted an entry to the mural contest and was awarded 3rd place in that event, but the art was not displayed. I personally saw the mural. It was not offensive of profane. Frankly I am a conservative who disagrees with most of the Green Party's politics. The problem is that mural was not allowed to be displayed. There was nothing objectionable about the mural and was pretty clever and kept with the theme of the event. I really feel that the Fair Officials had no right to put the mural on the floor facing the wall. I am shocked at the casual way the fair officials gave an award to the Green Party for their efforts, yet refused to show the art. Collapse
