It’s June, 1924, and you are cordially invited for a weekend at the House of Bliss (that is, actress Judith Bliss and her colorful family). Champagne, charades, and shenanigans will ensue. This young, lighter-than-air (and twice as bubbly) play is written by Noel Coward.

This was my first experience with this theare company. It was upsetting to watch the heavy-handed treatment by both the director and the actors of a playwright who trademark is light, witty, banter. The dialects were uneven and the timing just wasn't there. In addition, there was no real human interactions, just actors reciting lines. A disappointment and I doubt I will return to the Pear. We saw this last Saturday and had a wonderful time. Some great performances in a great little theatre. If you get the chance, don't miss it!!

The Pear's production of Noel Coward's Hay Fever is superb. The cast has caught every nuance of this bright, witty, still relevant play.Thoroughly enjoyable. Don't miss it.
