Target Family Days, generously sponsored by Target Stores, will attract kids and adults of all ages one Sunday per month, beginning July 12th. Three cultural themes including East Indian-Bollywood, Hawaiian and Latin will round out each enriching event with music, children’ s performers, hands-on activities for kids and more. There will be something for everyone, as Courthouse Square becomes the center of a magical assortment of family entertainment. Plus, the street will be closed to through traffic, making a family outing in Downtown a safe and gratifying experience.

The Cuban Cowboys - Que es/What is un Cuban Cowboy? The Cuban Cowboy is not a tipico cowboy in the mold of a cheesy-quesoso Hollywood Western. Horses? He has none. He (or she) sleeps on a mattress, rides a subway train, and owns no rifle. The Cuban Cowboy is a breed apart--a hy-breed. The tools of his trade are a musical instrument, a silvery tongue and a pair of twitchy hips. He is the bastard love-child of Ricky Ricardo and Tom Waits, Elvis eats azucar. The musical estilo of The Cuban Cowboys is as itinerant as the elusive creatures who spawn it. A capricious mixture of tradition and revolt, it features tasty rhythmitos of Montuno and Guajira served up under swooning surf guitar and dark post-punk power chords. An occasional hillbilly root thrown in the pot not only justifies the wearing of cowboy hats, but also makes an excellent garnish.

Andy Z and the Andyland Band (Children's Music DVD Realease Party!) - Join Andy Z & the Band as they take you on an imaginary tour of Andyland and celebrate the release of his 1st full-length DVD Intro To Andyland: Sing & Dance with Andy Z. Andy's story adventure performances feature characters and a full host of traditional and contemporary music plus original songs from his multiple award-winning Andyland CD series. Don't Miss it!

Insect Discovery Lab - "Giant millipedes, hissing cockroaches and whip scorpions may inspire fear and loathing in many adults, but kids find them enthralling, provided they are presented in an agreeable and nonthreatening fashion. That's what staffers at San Francisco's Insect Discovery Lab do. During road shows to events around the Bay Area, they like nothing more than to provide placid -- if exceedingly large -- bugs for people to cosset and pet. In helping kids understand that such critters are essentially harmless and interesting, the lab's docents pass on a larger lesson: Arthropods -- insects, spiders, millipedes, and the like -- are essential to any ecological system, and they deserve our protection as much as snow leopards and spotted owls. The lab is a project of the Center for Ecosystem Survival, a San Francisco group that has saved about 11 million acres of tropical rain forests and coral reefs since its founding in 1989." ~ Glen Martin for SF Gate

Jean Paul Valjean - Jean-Paul was born in Algeria, Africa to fourthgeneration circus performers (trained in the European tradition) who passed on their art to their family. He began his training in the circus arts as an acrobat and contortionist. At the young age of 5, he made his debut as the youngest high-wire performer in the world in London, England. This was the start of a long and distinguished career showcasing his talents in numerous European and American circuses and variety shows. Jean Paul has also been featured on the pages of Juggle Magazine.

Clown Clubhouse - Clowning around is magic enough, and then add a little poof and zazoom!!! When Jetlag and Honeydew start pulling things out of their Bag of Tricks....well, who knows what's going to happen?
