Pianist and composer Uri Caine, often called a "musical alchemist," is known for his innovative improvisations that redefine musical genres. His works merge and mix Mahler and Bach with original music, swinging bebop and hard-hitting drum-and-bass. Caine has recorded nineteen CD's, most recently, The Othello Syndrome, a 2009 Grammy Nominee for Best Classical Crossover Album.
