Dancing Sun's Artistic Director Bih Tau Sung will perform "The Heart's Natural Inclination," a modern ballet choreographed by Alonzo King, artistic director of San Francisco's Lines Ballet. Guest performer Jin Wen Yu, chair of the dance department at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, will perform "To Bury the Petal" and "Beyond," a work derived from Tai Ji Quan and Chinese ribbon dance. Dancing Sun Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in August 1999 by the well-known professional dancer and artistic director Bin-Tau Sung. The Foundation's vision is to present a variety of professional dance programs characterized by the free and contemporary style of Sung's elegant choreography. The Foundation's dance presentations reflect an artistic strength that transcends the boundaries of geography and time and merges traditional and modern dance forms. This production is part of the 11th Downtown Arts Series, sponsored by the City of San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs and San Jose Stage Company.
