When Music at Noon director Robert Bozina met Robert Lowery, he resolved to do everything he could to bring Lowery to Santa Clara every year. The opportunity to see and hear an original delta bluesman who represents the pulse of music that shaped all music we call “American” presented an educational opportunity for students and the community all the paper and textbooks in the world could not match. President Bill Clinton thought the same, asking Robert to play at his inauguration. In this special performance, Robert is accompanied by renowned slide guitarist “Preacher Boy” (nominated for 2009 Blues Album of the Year at the Independent Music Awards) and Virgil Thrasher on harmonica.
