Add Review/CommentThis is a ball what’s no better than it should be, set in a low-life pub and music hall in the notorious Seven Dials district of the East End. Inspired by Dickens’ Oliver Twist, the ball will feature wild and indecorous music, dancing and singing and the East End’s favorite dance band, Bangers & Mash, playing the most danceable music hall tunes of the day for an evening of Victorian ballroom and set dances, including their usual array of melting waltzes. Suggested costume is early to mid Victorian (lower class or slumming upper class, especially if you’re a gentleman), but costumes are admired, not required. There will be punch, light snacks, and lots of good cheer as well as a short, audience-interactive performance by the Peerless Music Hall. ‘Cause a little o’ what you fancy does you good!
