Add Review/CommentThree American masters explore the fusion of jazz and symphonic music. Brilliant modern multi-culturalist composer David Amram combines wind, brass, and jazz quintets with orchestra. Jazz trombonist Dennis Wilson leads Duke Ellington's 1948 work incorporating work songs, blues and even big band. Gershwin's 1929 classic caps the concert with wit and charm. Paul Polivnick and Dennis Wilson conduct soloists, David Amram plus several from the Orchestra. Program will include David Amram's Triple Concerto, Duke Ellington's Black, Brown & Beige and George Gershwin's An American In Paris.
