    An exciting triptych of larger works Gabrieli, Ludtke and Larsen for brass, keyboard, and chorus. Joined by brass and percussion players from the California Symphony, tenor, Kevin Gibbs and pianist, Paul Rosas, Sanford Dole and Cantabile Chorale present Giovanni Gabrieli’s Magnificat in 12 voices, a reprise of the Mass by local composer William Ludtke that was commissioned and premiered 15 years ago by Cantabile Choral Guild and American composer Libby Larsen’s Seven Ghosts, a setting letters written to George Washington by poet Phillis Wheatley, to Harriet Beecher Stowe by soprano Jenny Lind, by astronomer Clyde Thombaugh, by aviator Charles Lindberg, and by jazzman Louis Armstrong.
