American Ice Theatre, (AIT) San Jose's premier professional ice dance company is presenting a fusion of dance and technology with an ice performance for the whole family.The full-length hour and a half performance will include two new works incorporating dancers, skaters, music, lights and effects. Under the direction of Jodi Porter, the AIT ensemble creates a magical experience through the art of dance on ice. Inspired by the movement of the ocean and the changing landscape of the artic, Glacier blends dance with skating in a moving and powerful way. Tech Then Tech Now... is a 45-minute progression of technology from the industrial age to now and beyond. Tech Then Tech Now…will highlight visual technology mixed with dance, singing and skating. With special guest skaters this year’s AIT production is a visual treat for the whole family. Enrique Jarquin and Lucy Yoo will be returning as premier dancers on stage. The 2009 AIT ensemble includes: Billy Kheir, Elizabeth McGlauflin, Elizabeth Handley, Julia Ponomarenko, and Ben Westenberger. Featured AIT skater is Olympian Beata Handra. Proceeds from the shows benefit local children’s ice theatre programming: Golden State Synchronized Skating Team, Ice Crystals, and Redwood City Ice Theatre. The performance is sponsored in part by Arts Council Silicon Valley and sanctioned by the United States Figure Skating Association.

Western Youth Circuit for Youth Fencing is featured in this event.

Tip-a-Cop brings together local law enforcement personnel and Special Olympics athletes for a day of food, fun and awareness. Every year, law enforcement officers volunteer as celebrity wait staff, helping to deliver food and refill drinks, all for "tips" for Special Olympics! This fun event raises money to help provide local athletes with free year-round training and competition in nineteen sports.

This docent-led hike through an unspoiled landscape offers dramatic vistas and numerous wildflowers. Blair Ranch, on the southern edge of Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve, is not yet open for general public use, but this activity invites participants to explore new open space. The 3.5-mile hike has some strenuous uphills and stretches of uneven footing. Wear hiking attire and bring water and a snack.

Limit: 30 per hike, ages 15 and up. Call or email for reservations.
