In the 1997 Broadway season, Chicago won six Tony awards including best revival. In razzle dazzle, roaring twenties Chicago, married chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover. Roxie and another murderess on death row vie for the spotlight and the headlines, hoping the publicity will catapult them to fame, freedom and successful stage careers. This sharp edged musical of murder, exploitation and treachery features a dazzling score that sparked, in the original production, some immortal choreography by Bob Fosse. The score includes such favorites as All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango, Mr. Cellophane and Razzle Dazzle. The 2002 film version of Chicago won the Oscar for Best Picture.

Broadway West Theatre Company presents a new twist on an edge-of-your-seat ghost story, adapted from Henry James's short story by Jeffrey Hatcher. A young governess journeys to a lonely manor house to care for two children. But she is not their first governess, her predecessor drowned herself. Now the new governess has begun to see the specters haunting the children and she must protect them. But one frightening question tortures the would-be heroine. Are the ghosts real, or are they the product of her own fevered imagination? Two actors spin this classic tale of suspense for you.

Incorruptible, a dark comedy about the dark ages, is set in a destitute and decrepit French monastery in 1250 AD. Their saint's relics have not produced a miracle in thirteen years, and no local, let alone a pilgrim, will pay the obligatory penny to pray before her. The monks are desperate; they can't even feed themselves, let alone carry out their mission of caring for the poor. The river flooded last week. The chandler's shop just burned to the ground, again. To make things worse, the convent down the road claims to have the relics of the same saint, and "their" bones are working miracles. All seems hopeless, and the monks feel their faith slipping away -- until they cross paths with a thieving, one-eyed minstrel who teaches them an outrageous new way to pay old debts.

If you think you know your fairy tales, think again. This brilliant Tony Award-winning musical tells many stories: A childless Baker and his Wife, a maybe not-so-Wicked Witch, an indecisive Cinderella, a dim-witted Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, two very vain Princes, all jumbled together by a mysterious narrator as they make their hopeful ways while seeking their heart's desire. Be careful what you wish for; in the woods you might just get it. What begins as a lively irreverent fantasy becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.

By Samuel Beckett
Directed by Michael Lederman

Waiting for Godot is one of the most magical fables of our time. This play, first produced in 1956, helped redefine the very nature of theatre. Alone on a county road beside a leafless tree, Estragon and Vladimir, two apparently homeless men, wait for someone - or something - named Godot. They meet a series of characters in this masterpiece of poetry, wordplay, dreamscapes, and nonsense that has delighted audiences around the world.

Tony Award-winner David Henry Hwang’s new adaptation of this Rodgers and Hammerstein jewel centers on Mei-Li who arrives in 1960 San Francisco Chinatown after fleeing communist China. The naïve young refugee is befriended by Wang, who is struggling to keep the Chinese theatrical tradition alive despite his son’s determination to turn the theatre into a rowdy nightclub. A unique blending of American razz-ma-tazz and stylized Chinese traditions, this beautiful theatrical tapestry is highlighted by its wonderful score, that is both lushly romantic and showbiz-brassy and includes I Enjoy Being a Girl, A Hundred Million Miracles, Sunday and Chop Suey.

Based on the acclaimed Disney animated family film, this spectacular musical adventure begins in a remote African jungle as an orphaned infant boy is rescued from nature’s perils by a caring gorilla couple. As time passes, the boy grows into manhood living alongside the apes. However, Tarzan and his gorilla family’s idyllic jungle life are threatened by the arrival of a group of enterprising explorers, among them the beautiful yet feisty Jane Potter. Rock legend Phil Collins’ rhythmic score includes the Academy Award-winning song You’ll Be in My Heart. Making its West Coast Premiere at AMTSJ, this newly revised production is ideal entertainment for the entire family.

It's the ultimate tap-dancing backstage musical comedy! It's 42nd Street, a glorious celebration of Broadway and its people. Fresh from Allentown, PA, aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer arrives in Depression-era New York and lands a job in a new musical. But this raw beginner may end up a star when given the chance to step into the spotlight. Winner of the 1981 Tony Award for Best Musical and the 2001 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, its memorable score contains such show-stoppers as You’re Getting to Be a Habit with Me, Dames, We’re in the Money, Lullaby of Broadway, Shuffle Off to Buffalo and the title tune.

This epic musical by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens paints a nostalgic picture and powerful portrait of life in turn of the century America. Based on E.L. Doctorow’s distinguished novel, RAGTIME intertwines three distinct stories that poignantly illustrate history’s timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and love and hate. This 1998 Tony Award winning show for best score, book and orchestrations features such show stopping songs as Wheels of a Dream, Till We Reach That Day, and Make Them Hear You.

The Will Rogers Follies is a Tony Award-winning musical with a book by Peter Stone, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and music by Cy Coleman. It focuses on the life and career of famed humorist and performer Will Rogers, using as a backdrop the Ziegfeld Follies, which he often headlined, and describes every episode in his life in the form of a big production number. The Rogers character also performs rope tricks in between scenes. The revue contains snippets of Rogers' famous homespun style of wisdom and common sense and tries to convey the personality of this quintessentially American figure whose most famous quote was "I never met a man I didn't like." This show has some favorites such as Give a Man Enough Rope, Favorite Son and No Man Left For Me.

An Inspector Calls is an effective presentation of the strange twists that take place in human beings when their consciences are affected. In an English industrial city in 1912, a young girl commits suicide and an eminently respectable British family is subject to a routine inquiry in connection with the death. An inspector calls to interrogate the family, and during the course of his questioning, all members of the group are implicated lightly or deeply in the girl's undoing. The family, closely knit and friendly at the beginning of the evening, is shown up as selfish, self-centered or cowardly, its good humor turning to acid, and good fellowship to dislike, before the evening is over.

Radio Golf, a soaring political drama by August Wilson. Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson’s inspired final play is a powerful elegy for a lost time, a hustling comedy-drama set in a neglected Pittsburgh neighborhood at the twilight of the 20th century, 1997. There, a charismatic African American politician is running for Mayor, caught between the fresh-faced spirit of the future and the soulful voices of the past. Must he give up his song to fulfill his dreams? His hopes to protect his heritage? Acclaimed actor Aldo Billingslea (The Elephant Man) stars in the role of a lifetime. Contains mature language. “A passion for gorgeous writing…his most contemporary and accessible work.” - Newsday.

Broadway ballyhoo meets Hollywood hustle aboard the Twentieth Century Limited, the legendary locomotive that plays streamlined host to this classic screwball comedy from the 1930s. Polished to a deco sparkle by Tony Award-winning farceur Ken Ludwig, it matches an on-the-outs impresario with a mercurial silver screen starlet in a madcap battle of the sexes, hurtling from havoc to hilarity on the disorient express. “A thrilling funhouse ride!” - The New Yorker

By Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur. Based on a play by Charles Bruce Milholland. Adapted by Ken Ludwig.

It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues, a sizzling journey in song by Charles Bevel, Lita Gaithers, Randal Myler, Ron Taylor, and Dan Wheetman. This sizzling, red-hot Broadway hit is a foot-stomping, high-voltage journey in song. From African chants and Delta spirituals to the urban electricity of a Chicago nightclub, from dusty backroad bluegrass to the twang of a country juke joint, it is a stirring retrospective of blues classics that summon the soul of American music. Told with historical sweep and irresistible energy, this Tony Award nominee is guaranteed to jar the floor, raise the roof, and kick-start your heart. “Rich, evocative, rousing…it’s more than a musical feast.” - The New York Times

Distracted, an offbeat comic drama by Lisa Loomer. Jesse’s got problems. Mom needs to solve them. At school, at home, this plugged-in kid is easily distracted and readily riled—just like his anxious parents, the neurotic neighbors, the clue-challenged doctors, the whole revved-up, wacked-out webcast of modern life. Could it be Attention Deficit Disorder? And what if it is? Honest, insightful, and hilariously offbeat, this LA/Ashland hit by the author of Living Out is a dramedy for our times, texting for answers in a world too frazzled to text back. Contains mature language. “A passionate emotional journey…moves with impressive comic swiftness.” - Los Angeles Times

Winner of two Obie Awards, Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production, The Foreigner is an uproariously inspired comedy that celebrates our curiosity and empathy for “the outsider.” Englishman Charlie Baker, self-proclaimed “world’s dullest man,” takes a vacation at a rural fishing lodge with his eccentric army buddy, Froggy LeSuer. Froggy concocts an outrageous scheme to save Charlie from his pathologically shy self by introducing him as an exotic “foreigner” who can’t speak English. It isn’t long before Charlie’s guileless persona backfires and the mix of good-hearted, slow-witted and devious lodge guests share their deepest secrets and most sinister plans. What ensues is a series of hilarious and heartwarming revelations, which lead to the ultimate good guys vs. bad guys climax!

In this smart and witty exploration of faith, science, love and ambition, Leigh Sangold, a Nobel prize-winning astrophysicist, takes on the definitive scientific challenge: to use physics to prove whether God exists. Leigh’s pursuit of a renewed sense of purpose for her life threatens her closest relationships with Saul Lieberman, a tenderhearted Rabbi who’s been in love with her since childhood, and her lover, a competitive post-doctoral student who is the son of a Christian Scientist. Splitting Infinity tests the boundaries of relationships and zealous ambition. It seeks to answer the questions we have about ourselves, each other, and the universe through the scientific and religious equation.

It’s Paris, a city renowned for its artistic freedom. But it's 1941 and the German occupation has established a paranoid culture at its most oppressive. Pablo Picasso has been brought to a storage vault to authenticate three painting that have been recently “acquired” by the Germans. The beautiful, mysterious and art obsessed Miss Fischer, an adjunct to the Ministry of Culture in Berlin, has the arduous and compelling task of interrogating the man who painted Guernica. When the true purpose of Miss Fischer’s mission is revealed, they enter into an intense and passionate game of cat-and-mouse. This provocative and witty play, by one of America’s most widely produced playwrights, sizzles under the scrutiny of art, politics, sex and censorship, as the artistic genius is forced to justify his creativity.

Adapted from the international best-seller, The Kite Runner is a haunting story of friendship and redemption in modern Afghanistan, from the pre-Russian-invasion glory days through the horrific reign of the Taliban. This eloquent tale is told through the lives of two boys growing up in Kabul in the same household, but in two starkly different worlds. Amir is the son of a wealthy yet emotionally distant businessman, while Hassan is the son of Amir’s father’s servant who is Hazara, a shunned ethnic minority. Despite the vast gulf in social positions, the two grow up inseparable until Amir and his father flee the country during the Soviet invasion. Years later, an emotionally crippled Amir returns to Afghanistan to seek out his old friend and atone for his youthful cowardice. But fate, global politics and historical tragedy threaten Amir’s ability to make amends for his past.

This Tony award-winning Broadway hit musical that recently closed on Broadway after nearly 1,200 performances celebrates the mania of competition as the funniest, most lovable and sardonically nerdy contestants compete for the Spelling Bee title. Six wacky misfits with steely ambition strive to define themselves apart from their crazy families as they confront the pitfalls of puberty. The quirky mix of determined youngsters, including sheepish Leaf Coneybear, nasally challenged yet smug and confident William Barfee, and Olive Ostrovsky, a sweet, painfully shy girl whose absent mother is on a spiritual quest, discover themselves as they vie for selection in this witty and wise Broadway hit for the entire family!

The longest running show at Spindrift! Asylum improv has been bringing comedy to Pacifica for 20 years! Fifteen of those years have been right here at Pacifica Spindrift Players. Asylum offers improvisational workshops and performances all year round.

PSP performs several live shows each year, usually following each PSP production. They perform a smorgasbord of games and scenarios, most based on audience suggestions, as we create scenes, characters, and entertainment right on the spot, just like they do on the television show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"

PSP also performs a half-hour show each Friday night at 10pm on the local cable station, Channel 26. They tape two shows at the studio every other month. While not live, this show allows them to further hone their improv skills and play their favorite games. The show is also broadcasted to other cable channels in San Mateo County. In fact, Asylum shows were the first ever be sent out to these other cable channels!

Avenue Q, the 2004 Tony Award® winner for Best Musical, is a hilarious show about trying to make it in NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad, arrives in Manhattan to discover that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q. His nice new neighbors include Brian, an out-of-work comedian, his therapist fiancé Christmas Eve, Nicky, a good-hearted slacker, Rod, a Republican investment banker, Trekkie Monster, an Internet addict, and Kate, a cute kindergarten teaching assistant. Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Called "one of the funniest shows you're ever likely to see" by Entertainment Weekly, this wild and witty show features a cast of people and puppets who tell the story in a smart, risqué and downright entertaining way. Recommended for ages 16 & up - adult language/mature themes

The popular and successful musical revue Forever Plaid returns to this theatre with its brand new Christmas holiday show called Plaid Tidings. It features the four male singers from the original musical where they were killed in an auto accident in the 1950?s on their way to their first big concert and were allowed to come back to earth for one night to do the show they never got to do in life. Having performed their show, they returned to the heavenly cosmos as guardians of Harmony for all eternity. However, one day they received a phone call from heavenly Rosemary Clooney convincing them to return to earth to put a little harmony into the discordant world with a show filled with Christmas songs that have all been "plaid-erized". Songs include Holiday For Plaids, Christmas Calypso, Let It Snow and many more of your Christmas favorites. This is one holiday treat that is truly "heaven-sent"!

Often considered one of the world's greatest musicals of the 20th Century, My Fair Lady returns to this theater. It is the classic Cinderella story; confirmed bachelor and phonetics expert, Henry Higgins, makes a wager that he can take a cockney flower girl out of the gutter and pass her off as a member of high society. What he doesn't count on is falling in love with his creation!

The show bursts with one of the most tuneful Broadway scores ever written, including I Could Have Danced All Night, I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face, On The Street Where You Live, Wouldn't It Be Loverly and the absolutely unforgettable Get Me To The Church On Time. You can't afford to miss this perfectly "loverly" production!.

A mysterious ad in the local paper invites the residents of the English village of Chipping Cleghorn to attend a murder at the home of Miss Blacklock. The neighbors gather, a shot rings out, and one of them lies dead. Why would anyone commit a murder in public like this? Even more important, can Miss Marple stop the killer from striking again? Match wits if you dare in this masterpiece by the Mistress of mystery and suspense. Directed by Brad Friedman.

SSTC often places Shakespeare's plays in modern or fantastical settings. This year we will be taking one of Shakespeare's most revered comedies and placing it in – get ready for it - Elizabethan England. It is so crazy, it just might work! In honor of our 10th Anniversary Season, we are paying homage to what truly makes Shady Shakespeare great – Shakespeare himself. We invite you to come and enjoy this play as it might have been presented by the Bard's company. SSTC's production of Twelfth Night revels in all the trappings of Shakespearean theatre, including cross-dressing twins, mistaken identities, and men in tights!

Twelfth Night follows the story of Viola, a young woman shipwrecked on the shores of Illyria after a storm in which she lost her twin brother Sebastian. Believing her brother dead, she poses as a man and masquerades as a young page named Cesario, entering into the service of Duke Orsino. Orsino is in love with the Lady Olivia and he decides to use his new page as a go-between. Olivia, believing Viola to be a man, falls in love with this handsome and eloquent messenger. Viola, in turn, falls in love with the Duke, who also believes Viola is a man.

In addition to this love triangle many other shenanigans ensue...Sir Toby Belch, Olivia's uncle, tries to get Sir Andrew Aguecheek, a friend with an open coin purse, to woo Olivia for himself; several characters conspire to make Malvolio, Olivia's pompous steward, believe that Olivia wishes to marry him; and, in a final twist, Sebastian, Viola's long-lost twin brother, stumbles into the Dukedom in the midst of all of the above. Will Viola and Sebastian find each other? What will happen when swords are drawn? And whose love will win out overall? Come to SSTC's Twelfth Night to find out!

Avast ye mateys and shiver me timbers! If you can imagine the havoc the pirates of the Caribbean would wreak if they came to Italy in the 17th Century, then you will find yourself smack dab in the middle of Shady Shakespeare's production of The Comedy of Errors. Filled with confusion and hilarity involving two sets of identical twins separated at birth, SSTC's The Comedy of Errors is a farcical romp as one master and his servant are mistaken for their mirror-like counterparts.

Thirty three years before the play begins the family of Aegeon and Amelia are ripped apart at sea and washed up on different shores. The loving parents were sailing with their beloved twin sons, each named Antipholus, and their faithful twin servants, each named Dromio. Aegeon and one son and servant land in Syracuse, while Amelia and the other son and servant land elsewhere, only to be separated yet again when "rude" fishermen steal the boy and servant away from her. Aegeon and Amelia separately vow to seek out their family and it is this vow that brings Aegeon to Ephesus in search of his wife, son, and servant lost so many years ago. The people of Ephesus are wary of those from Syracuse and seize Aegeon, sentencing him to death at sunset unless he can find someone in the city who can vouch for him.

On this same day as Aegeon's capture, Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant Dromio, unaware of Aegeon's predicament, arrive in Ephesus on business. Little do they know that their twin counterparts - Antipholus of Ephesus and his servant Dromio - reside in the very same town. The citizens of Ephesus all mistake the twins from Syracuse for their Ephesian doubles as each Antipholus and Dromio try to make heads and tails of the events of the day. Will Aegeon survive the day? Will each Antipholus and each Dromio find their way to their proper master and servant before the people revolt in the street? Will the family be reunited before it is too late? Come see SSTC's The Comedy of Errors to find out! Fast-paced and full of pirates from the Seven Seas, this production promises delightful entertainment for young and old alike.

Noises Off presents the story of a hapless English acting troupe who are touring a production of a farce called Nothing On. Frayn has filled this “funniest farce ever” with lots of doors slamming, sexual dalliances, confusions, and, of course, plates of sardines. An unrivalled delight for anyone who thinks that falling down is funny, that underwear is outerwear, and that theatre is a metaphor for life itself.

The actors take the stage for the Dumas' swashbuckling tale of intrigue, friendship, love, and justice in 17th Century France, only to discover that their leading player is nowhere to be found. What to do? Only when a hapless stagehand is armed, costumed, and provided with a script can the show go on. And “go on” it does – with the company of seasoned actors guiding the novice page-by-page through the role of D'Artagnan, stepping in and out of character and changing scenes as quickly as the pages turn. Chock-full of dastardly deeds and derring-do, this rowdy and rollicking Musketeers is rapier-sharp – a swift and satisfying blend of high drama, low comedy, dark secrets, and heart-rending romance. And oh, those swordfights!

Recently jilted at the alter, Marge falls for Del Delmonaco, the lounge singer, while Gabe, all around dogsbody at the resort and secretly brilliant songwriter, longs to make Marge his own. Hijinks abound in this sweetly comic musical that features 18 Neil Sedaka classics such as Where the Boys Are, Calendar Girl, and of course the chart-topping title song. Don't miss this West Coast Premiere!

It’s remembering which helps three sisters survive the despair of losing their mother and come to terms with their own lives. From start to finish The Memory of Water is a whirl-wind of emotions, bouncing from hilarious hysterics to twisting sorrow and pain. In the end, it’s very simple: sometimes a good laugh, a good cry and a good hug are the best therapy.

How did the Elephant get his trunk? How did the Leopard get his spots? How did the Rhinoceros get his skin? In the Just So Stories, Rudyard Kipling created a magical world as he told his daughter fables of the animal kingdom. In Just So, George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Honk!) have created a new musical that weaves five of Mr. Kipling’s most famous tales together into a fanciful lesson about personal courage, individuality and friendship.

Just So opens at the beginning of time as the Eldest Magician discovers that all the animals look alike. He sends them off on a quest to find their individual traits. Pau Amma, the Crab, scoffs at the idea and becomes a menace to all, wreaking havoc with the sea. Believing Pau Amma will stop if simply asked, the Elephant’s Child sets off to find him with the reluctant help of a flightless Kolokolo Bird. Along their journey, these two innocents help others like the Elephant, the Leopard, and the Rhinoceros discover their true selves, until the moment comes when the Elephant’s Child must face the giant Crab.

Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once On This Island, and Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville! These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks”! As each story unfolds you will marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss’s subtle themes are; making this musical one that appeals to all ages.

Kiss Me, Kate is a loosely plotted scenario about the out-of-town tryout of a musical version of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, directed by and starring an Orson Wellesian ham named Fred Graham alongside his ex-wife Lili Vanessi. Cole Porter confined himself to the sweeping emotions of the leading characters. Banking on the convention of two lovers "who can't live with each other and can't live without each other," Porter brilliantly captured the self-delusion and overwrought masochism of romantic egotism. Porter's renderings of the outsized, melodramatic personalities of Fred and Lili were the most truthful things he ever wrote (they were also perfectly embodied by Alfred Drake and Patricia Morison). Thrown together in the out-of-town tryout, Fred and Lili discover the love that binds their considerable egos together, even though Lili is engaged to marry a powerful senator and Fred is involved in a dalliance with a sexy young thing in the show. They realize, much like Kate and Petruchio in the original play, that they are bound to each other.

A provocative spin on a classic tale resonates deeply as Americans count down to Election 2008. In this contemporary Antigone, characters from the original Greek text slip into their modern counterparts in America’s political landscape. Thrust into the Oval Office after the sudden and tragic death of President Oedipus, Vice President Creon faces national crises that become personal very quickly as his goddaughter Antigone challenges his wartime martial law. The palace in Thebes becomes the Oval Office and the traditional Greek chorus is replaced by the President’s Cabinet, the White House Press Corps, and White House staff. Warning: This timely translation may lead to heated discussions of parallels and pitfalls.

This revue sings and dances its way through 48 familiar Cole Porter standards in a supper club setting. Besides his gigantic Broadway hits (Anything Goes, Kiss Me Kate), Cole Porter is also famous for hot American standards like You’re the Top, It’s De-
Lovely, Night and Day, and I’ve Got You Under My Skin, as well as cool classics like Another Openin’, Another Show, Don’t Fence Me In, and Friendship. Artists like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, Judy Garland, Nat King Cole, Elvis Costello, and Annie Lenox have made them unforgettable. Now Hot ‘n’ Cole offers fresh arrangements and a contemporary spin on these classic works.

With its magical tale of a Sahara-stranded aviator and the equally misplaced young “extra-terrestrial” he encounters, Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s The Little Prince has been a treasure for both children and adults for more than 65 years. A wonderfully touching and creative story of a man who meets an extraordinary boy and relearns what it means to be a child, the Little Prince is full of profound innocence, poignant insights, and fanciful characters -- a journey that is both physical and philosophical as the Little Prince tells the aviator about his many travels and encounters on his search for meaningful answers. This whimsical tale is rich with timeless poetic wisdom and magical charm.

Crowns is a lively and moving portrait of African-American women and how they define themselves through the hats they wear. Playwright Regina Taylor is an award-winning stage, film, and television actor (Lilly Harper in the critically acclaimed I’ll Fly Away, which earned her a Golden Globe Award). Crowns, her endearing play with music, tells the story of a young girl’s transformation in the wake of a family tragedy. Upon relocating to the South from Brooklyn to live with her grandmother, Yolanda begins a reluctant exploration of her roots in an unconventional way. Her journey weaves through a series of anecdotes delivered by a vibrant cast of characters. Each story is a rousing exploration of fashionable church hats and the African- American women who wear them as spiritual “crowns.” Yolanda’s youthful interaction with each character bridges the gap between new and old, bringing new perspective to a practice steeped in tradition and culture. It’s all threaded together by a combination of new and existing music and lends itself brilliantly to such gospel classics as His Eye Is On the Sparrow and Just a Closer Walk. Brimming with spirituals, blues, rap and hip hop, Crowns is an inspiring play with music.

This musical triumph is an inspiring celebration of fresh starts and the power of what one person can do. Things really start cookin’ in the small forgotten town of Gilead, Wisconsin the moment a young stranger arrives to work at the grill. And while the waitress may spill the gossip as she fills your coffee cup, the real treat is what’s on the menu for audiences—a down-home heaping helping of hope and good will, served with a blend of warm musical styles drawn from the heartland of American dreams.

This comedic classic of big laughs and bigamy is a joyride through London with a cabbie who masterfully juggles his two unsuspecting wives until his double life begins to collide head-on. Thanks to an irregular work schedule and a complicated coding system, John Smith has successfully kept his marriages to Barbara and Mary separate and secret from each other—until the fateful day John receives a blow to the head and a well-intentioned policeman takes the wrong John home to the wrong wife at the wrong time.
