    Palo Alto Philharmonic Association

The Palo Alto Philharmonic was founded in 1988 by a group of local musicians, and has grown to include members of many communities in the Bay Area. Led by Music Director Thomas Shoebotham, this community all-volunteer orchestra presents a broad spectrum of music and soloists, while focusing on the classic repertoire beloved by our audiences. The orchestra's Assistant Conductor and Composer-in-Residence, Lee Actor, has led the group in several premieres of his works.

Our season consists of 4 Orchestra concerts, a Family-Youth concert (an annual Peninsula favorite) and 2 Chamber concerts, presented by members (and friends) of the orchestra.

Mission Statement: The Palo Alto Philharmonic Association exists to promote and enhance the appreciation of orchestral and chamber music for audiences of all ages, and to provide musicians in the Bay Area with the opportunity to perform and develop their talents through the presentation of high quality and innovative concerts.
