Spent an absolutely delightful evening at The Retro Dome. The Guggenheim crew definitely know how to define the concept of "Shout for Joy!" Their latest creation, "SHOUT," is lively, tuneful, well-choreographed, and boasts five amazingly talented women bringing popular music of the '60s to colorful and energetic life. But perhaps the best part of a Guggenheim production is the way in which their productions always keep the audience foremost in mind, and involve the folks in the dark with the bright antics on stage. We actually sang and clapped to a couple of songs and felt like we were part of the show! As a former critic for a cultural arts weekly ("Boston After Dark," from the 60's) as well, I can "professionally" state that this is a "must see" production. Support your local theatre! Go see SHOUT!!! Collapse

"Good Fun"

Shout! was an entertaining stroll down the musical halls of the 1960's. The singing was great, and the costumes colorful. Recommended entertainmnet for the over 50 crowd.

This show is marketed as professional and the tickets are priced accordingly, but it's actually a low-budget kiddie show with the target audience being maybe ages 7-10. The VERY enthusiastic cast will appeal to the kids, but the nonsense script has nothing to offer adults. The talent was inconsistent --- some good voices and acting --- and some barely passable. I thought that Guggenheim Entertainment would be a cut above community theater, but it definitely wasn't, if this show is any example. I had hoped for some razzle dazzle, but what I got was a silly skit on a small stage with some real casting faux pas. The cast really did try their best with what they had to work with, but it wasn't enough. Do NOT see this show unless you intend to bring a child with you. Collapse

"A fun Christmas show for families"
Review posted by: The Miners from Los Gatos, CA, Dec 08, 2009
We attended the Santastic Christmas Musical and thoroughly enjoyed it. We attended with both high school and college kids and there was every age in the audience. It is a very enjoyable performance.

For kids of all ages. Done well by adult performers. Not a bad seat in the house. A comfortable venue. Friendly. Refeshments. Free parking.

This was a cheery, 1970s delight. Grown-ups could remember songs of their childhood, and kids related to those song just like their parents did. The audience participation was fun and never intrusive. And the cast is energetic, talented, and truly kid-friendly. Highly recommended for families. Collapse

School House Rock was done wonderfully, from the signing , dancing, to audience participation they made the whole experience awesome. The whole family is waiting for the next show . All the seats in the house are good , although front row is our favorite, the snacks they offered where a fun walk down memory lane, pop rocks, twinkies, ding dongs. choc milk. to name a few. (all they need to add or those fruit pies especially choc cream). thank you! Please continue to have family musical entertainment , There is nothing better that spending the day with the kids enjoying the theatre and continuing to make up there own shows at home after.
