I LOVED it! And not just because my little sis is in it! This is not your local small town theater folks. This is a class act all the way. The actors were funny, charming, kept the flow going and had me rolling with laughter. The singing and dancing was tops. The stage setting was great as was the seating. All seats had super views. My only critique would be that the woman's restroom ran out of paper towels before the intermission ended. Other then that, go see it tomorrow because it's your last chance! Collapse

The play was too long. Some of the scenes you thought were finally over, we would clap and then, to our dismay, they would go on again. The cast was ok but, with a few exceptions, were not strong in singing and dancing so some of the unnecessary numbers should have been cut and the others shortened. I am sorry, but I would not recommend this to anyone. Collapse

I say check it out! Lola, like a young Hepburn with more sex appeal; and Young Joe (with his boyish good looks)are fantastic. Gloria sets the tone and steals the show with her opening number (Shoeless Joe)! Think Renee Z from "Leatherheads" but more sass and a great voice. The show runs long, too bad. I could not help but think what was cut from Gloria when the writers were cutting the original-would have loved a 2nd act song from her. The devil could be more "smarmy", but better than some I have seen; including the nutty professor. The girl playing Meg seems young but does a very nice job and has a nice voice. It seems more believable seeing her with Young Joe than old. Lovely characters in the sisters and the boys sing and dance nicely together: especially the featured trio in HEART and all in THE GAME. The set is nicely decorated, but some of the lighting made me go hmmm. The orchestra seemed to drag at times and get lost, but maybe I got them on a bad night. 2 THUMBS UP! Collapse

I weathered the stormy night and heavily trafficked high school parking lot, and am glad that I decided to find that parking space and the small theatre. The intimacy of the theatre makes one feel that you are a part of the on going action; the jokes, the playfulness, the barbs, the sadness and the tears are much too close not to be drawn up into them. These women are your family, your relatives, your neighbors, and you can't run away from feeling their joy, pain, anger, and sadness, and in the end, their forgiveness and acceptance. Bring your Kleenex and go and cheer on this very talented cast of women!! Collapse

Lots of fun in Newark these days with a delightful production of THE FULL MONTY. Although there are no great singers in this show, the audience had lots of fun. Is that not why we go to the theater? Tighter direction might have helped as the show plugged along in Act One. Nice choreography by Kevin Hammond who also plays one of the major characters. Lisa Ottersetter continues to shine in a smaller role this time. Come support this enthusiastic group. You won't be disappointed. Collapse

I went to this show after having really enjoyed AMTSJ's production of Wizard of Oz last year. I wanted to get back some of the magic, so went to this production. It was not even close to the AMT show. Some cute parts, and some good voices, but those that were sub-par really took away from the experience as a whole. Collapse

This show was VERY entertaining. My entire family enjoyed it. There are a few un-PC moments but as the show is set some time in the 30's one can expect a little of that. Our favorite part was the tango dance number. The two actors featured in this number were so entertaining. Congradulations to Stage 1 on this production. Looking forward to telling all my friends.
