Community School of Music and Arts
Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) fosters a love of the creative arts by providing high-quality education and experience with a commitment to excellence and accessibility. Any student is welcome, from the complete novice to the professional wanting to cross-train and be stimulated by contact with peers. Those who can’t afford tuition are invited to apply for financial aid.
Students are offered performance and exhibition opportunities matching their developing abilities so that they become confident and seasoned in sharing their accomplishments with others. The faculty is composed of professional musicians, practicing artists and experienced teachers, complemented by visiting artists in residence.
CSMA is a cultural mirror of the region it serves. It offers a diverse curriculum reflective of a changing society and celebrates that diversity through performance and exhibition. The School is an integral part of the larger community, offering in-depth, sequential arts education programs in local classrooms and presenting performances and exhibitions in many civic and social service venues. CSMA strengthens the fabric of the local community by engaging youth in creative activities that develop discipline, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and giving them a sense of achievement and personal worth.
In the community, CSMA provides arts-in-the-schools programs to 7,500+ children at close to thirty schools throughout the region. It is ranked among the top ten schools of its kind in the nation.

"Great event"

The CSMA has a wonderful program of free cultural performances for families. Four Winds was an example of the terrific programming. It instilled an interest in native american culture in our son.

Not only is the Kulintang music and dance beautiful, but this group performed wonderfully for their audience - the children and the adults were captivated.

Event Name: Hookslide CD Release Party
"Sounded like more"
Review posted by: Sherrie from Santa Rosa, Ca, Feb 13, 2006
These guys sure sounded like a lot more than four men and four mics. The sound was great and the breadth of music was a lot of fun. Mostly I'm amazed.
