    Zohar Dance Company

    Zohar Dance Studio offers ongoing classes of different levels in jazz, ballet, and modern. Equipped with theatre lighting, the studio is available to community members and artists as an intimate performance space as well as for classes, workshops and rehearsals. Zohar's professional teaching staff have been serving the Palo Alto area since 1979. Dancers have gone on from Zohar to attend Juilliard School and New York University, and others to perform on Broadway, in Las Vegas, and Europe.

    Since 1986, Zohar has brought the art of dance to at-risk youths. IndepenDANCE transforms 5-14 year old youths with dance classes culminating in a showcase performance. Young dancers meet twice a week for classes, rehearsals and workshops throughout the school year. Starting with 30 students in East Palo Alto, the program today reaches over 700 youths annually at over 10 sites. The most recent expansion includes children considered developmentally delayed. This program is offered at 10 sites throughout the school year reaching an additional 200 children annually.
