    Peninsula Cantare

Peninsula Cantare is an adult, auditioned chorus dedicated to presenting high quality choral performances of classical repertoire to its listening audience. In music from the Renaissance to the Twentieth century, Peninsula Cantare's mission is to sing interesting and varied music with the purpose of keeping alive the great tradition of choral masterpieces, and to explore newly composed works.

Cantare gives three concerts each season, performing in churches throughout the Mid-Peninsula, and often participates in other community festivals. In May of 2006, the choir participated in the 2nd Annual Stanford Invitational Choral Festival.

Originally founded as a class at Caņada College by Carl Sitton in 1971, Peninsula Cantare is now a non-profit organization led by music director Janice Gunderson. The group has toured Europe and Australia and is planning a tour to Brazil in the summer of 2007.
