California Theatre Center

California Theatre Center (CTC) is a company with three major programs. It has a resident company that performs primarily for students and families from October to May. There is a resident company that performs primarily for adults in the summer. Plus, CTC has touring companies that perform regionally, nationally and internationally.

California Theatre Center attempts to provide the performing artist with the best possible environment so that he or she can be as creative as possible. The members of CTC believe that it is important to think of excellence as a process rather than a product.

CTC has an extensive educational program featuring summer conservatories in over ten South Bay cities each year. There are junior, intermediate, advanced, and Saturday conservatories as well as special interest classes for adults, children and families, internships and outreach programs.

    I saw it last time it was on (last year, I think) and it was simply amazing. Easily the best CTC production I saw that year. The well-known story comes alive, full of energy, warmth, and humor (I remember especially the circus-style moon-hurdling attempts by the cow ....) I highly recommend it. Your child will enjoy it almost as much as you will. (In fact, if you don't have children, I recommend borrowing some to have an excuse to go see this) Collapse

    I was invited to attend Dracula at the very last minute. This was my first time seeing a performance at this venue. I'm so glad I did. Very well performed. The creepy parts gave me chills. The scary parts made me scream. Well acted and superbly choreographed. I love live theatre and this was wonderful! I'm returning tomorrow to see "Rough Crossing." Collapse

    This was by far one of the most entertaining evenings I have spent in a long time. I was enchanted, charmed, moved, and amused at this clever pairing of two short plays I had never heard of. The acting was SUPERB and in both plays which are starkly differnt yet compliment each other so well, the chemsitry of the pair of actors was astonishing. This is the second time I have been to this theatre for their summer rep and this is the second time I was so surprised by the talent, wonderful choice of scripts, and the technical professionalism and creativity of the shows. I so look forward to the next two shows! Do yourself a favor, grab a tissue (first show is a good, beautiful cry interspersed with such levity and poetry) and go spend a great 2 1/2 hours in Sunnyvale! Collapse

    What a fantastic show all around! The script was clever, the acting really wonderful and skillful, and the technical magic is so worth it. CTC does a stellar job with this production from beginning to end. Surprisingly scary, adn as a lover of horror films I was certainly skeptical at how theatre could make me jump. But it's just such a unique and wonderful piece. Please go see this, it's the last week and you'll be really delighted you did. Collapse
