    American Ice Theatre

    AIT was founded in 2003 by Artistic Director Jodi Porter, whose vision was to help grow the art of figure skating in the Bay Area by furthering the development of Ice Theatre, a contemporary art form melding the technical and compositional elements of dance and ensemble figure skating. She has worked as a choreographer to develop this idea since 1997 with expertise in professional dance and figure skating. Modeled after a professional company as a 501c3, AIT strives to create annual performances in the Bay Area and foster ongoing training for its performing artists and aspiring artists both in the studio and on the ice.
