    Peninsula Arts Council

Peninsula Arts Council is San Mateo County's local arts partner. It ensures the continuity and strength of San Mateo County's cultural organizations, improves the quality of life, and enhances the county's reputation as a culturally-rich community. It accomplishes this by providing advocacy, promoting collaboration, and developing support for the arts.

Peninsula Arts Council connects and strengthens the arts community through networking and providing resources and support. It provides a vital link between local arts organizations and the San Mateo County Arts Commission, the California Assembly of Local Arts Agencies and the California Arts Council. It has been instrumental in helping to establish cultural agencies throughout the area and to ensure that local artists and arts organizations are represented in their local government.

I don't know about the other photographers, and I live in St. Louis, so I can't come to the exhibition. I just wanted to say a few words about Deborah Lattimore. She has an incredible eye for beauty, and has learned to capture it with great definition and skill. Photography, after all means "writing with light". I'm positive that some of her macros of fish will be in the show, as well as the unforgettable and original image of the green apple, held by a hand in a cobalt blue glove, with the sea as the backdrop. It is truly an photographic Icon, the kind that makes every good photographer think "I sure wish I had thought of that FIRST". Collapse
