I went to see my son perform today in West Side Story . . . boy, was I blown away!! This was an absolutely incredible performance and a pure joy to watch. More talent up on that stage then I could have ever imagined. The singing, the dancing and the acting was as professional as it gets. Many of these young performers are, surely, Broadway bound. Kudos to you, CMT, for producing such an incredible production. And, kudos to each and every performer on that stage Collapse

I can't believe that while they give a rate for a child ticket, nowhere on the site (after 30 minutes searching) do they say what age a child has to be! Even in the "ticket purchase FAQ" there is no mention of child ticket ages. While this does not prevent me from buying a ticket, it makes me significantly less comfortable. Collapse

More than just children's theater, these performers (ages 14 to 20+) did an outstanding job! I am so impressed with the Children's Musical Theater of San Jose, they are a truly surprising organization that deserves the highest praise. The dancing and singing was breathtaking. The artistic viewpoint of the set design was edgy and refreshing. The Montgomery Theater is a charming space that could hardly contain the incredibly positive energy of the cast and audience. It was a sold out show that I feel lucky to have seen. Quick, grab a friend and go see this performance. It will be worth every penny. Collapse

This new production is typical CMT, great choreography, wonderful costumes, nice set. Always A+ in terms of production values. And the material is great. Choreography was rock solid and the girls shined vocally; the boys not so much. My only other negative is that seeing 11-13 year olds play grownups having romances and talking about "being a woman" makes me feel icky. The RS age bracket is much more believable and enjoyable when they stick to animals or kids their own age. I felt the same way about HSM last summer--12 year olds kissing or almost kissing is truly icky, almost creepy. But snaps to CMT for pulling this gem out of mothballs, it's great to expose performers and audiences to some truly great tunes. Finally BIG snaps to the young lady that was "Baby Whatever" for Johnny One Note, she KILLED on Sat night. Collapse

"Absoloutly amazing! keeps up with CMT's high standards!"

Was absolutely amazed by the performances of both the ensemble and the leads. I find it very hard to believe that a show much better than most professional performers can be done by teenagers.

I saw the show on it's opening night and boy, was I impressed! The cast that I saw had so much talent for young performers. Standouts for me were the actors who played The Baker, Little Red, Cinderella's Prince and The Witch. Who knew talent like this could come out of high-schoolers? Whether you are a Sondheim lover, or just want to see a good show, go and see Into the Woods. It was a blast! Collapse

My all-time favorite musical! Hilarious, yet meaningful. So much more than a bunch of fairy tales.

A must to see. The actors are superb! A very funny, touching, and meaningful musical with a wonderful score that will stay with you long after the play is over.

I admit, I thought Into the Woods would be too weird or discordant or dark. I like to keep my musicals light and happy. What a great surprise! CMT really hit all the notes on this one. I'm no longer afraid of Sondheim! So much humor in this and talent, as always is top notch. It's like 20 buck Broadway, right here in San Jose. No airfare, no hotel, which leaves plenty left over for a nice cocktail at Paragon after the show. Collapse
