    Santa Clara Chorale

The Santa Clara Chorale was founded in 1963 as an adult community chorus devoted to providing a wide range of great choral music programs to community audiences drawn from Santa Clara and surrounding South Bay communities. The Chorale performs three times a year in Mission Santa Clara; we also perform in other Bay Area venues during each season and in other countries every 2-3 years when we tour, at members’ own expense. Musical programming ranges from the classical to the contemporary, including great music from the works of jazz, gospel, spiritual, and Broadway.

Our current Music Director, Thomas Colohan, is also the Director of Choral Activities at Santa Clara University. Tom brings great experience and enthusiasm to his role as Director. This year he leads the Chorale through classical works like Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor and Bach’s Cantata 140 “Wachet Auf” and romantic classics from Brahms and Schubert. The Chorale is also pleased to present the world premier of a work by renowned Bay Area composer, Pamela Layman Quist, entitled Requiem for the People.
