    Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph

St. Joseph Cathedral is located in the heart of the downtown area of San Jose, CA. Artistically, its architecture is itself a "work of art", being designed in the form of a Greek cross, which provides perfect geometry and a floor plan that accommodates centrality for worship and performances.

St. Joseph Cathedral is known as one of the Bay Area's most acoustically and visually exquisite venues, particularly for chant and early music. Groups such as Schola Cantorum, San Jose Symphonic Choir and Chanticleer proclaim that the cathedral makes for a wonderful acoustical experience.

Originally established as a mission in 1799, today the Cathedral continues to be an active place of worship, as well as provide an inspiring performance space for choral and music ensembles.

Located downtown San Jose at the corner of South Market and West San Fernando Streets, near the San Jose Museum of Art.

Public tours are provided every Tuesday and Thursday from 1pm-3pm.
