    Palo Alto Children's Theatre

This program began in 1932. With a gift to the City of Palo Alto from Lucie Stern in 1937, the Palo Alto Children's Theatre became one of the first and only children's theatres in the nation to have a fully-equipped theatre just for young people. Since its inception, the Palo Alto Children's Theatre has gained world acclaim as a model for theatres by and for young people.

Over the years, patricipants have been able to contribute to numerous aspects of productions -- onstage and off -- through acting, singing, dancing, working stage crew, costuming, building sets, running sound, writing, directing and much more. They have also been able to gain experience in different mediums including radio, film and video.

The Palo Alto Children’s Theatre provides fun, high-quality, interactive classes and summer camps that enliven imaginations, get kids working together, promote self-expression and self-confidence, and instill a lifelong love of theatre. All classes are taught by professional teaching artists with a talent for teaching kids. The program serves children and young adults ages four to twenty-four years old.
