    Peninsula Symphony

For over 55 years, the all-volunteer Peninsula Symphony has brought superior symphonic music to the Bay Area and has continued its tradition of featuring world-class guest artists, such as Jon Nakamatsu, Garrick Ohlsson, Angel Romero, Wesla Whifield, and Sam Weber. When conductor Mitchell Sardou Klein arrived in 1985, the Peninsula Symphony began its development from a grassroots ensemble to a polished 90-plus-member orchestra of well-trained community musicians, and through Maestro Klein’s continued artistic leadership, the Symphony’s audience has grown to over 10,000 per year.

The PSO performs four concert pairs in October, January, March, and May at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center and Flint Center in Cupertino. A family concert is also given once a year, as well as a summer outdoor POPS concert in Palo Alto in July, and a holiday concert, with the Stanford University Chorus, that has become an annual event at the Stanford Memorial Chapel in late November.
