What is Artsopolis?
Artsopolis.com is the Silicon Valley’s ultimate online guide to Arts and Culture. Since 2003, Artsopolis has provided a comprehensive calendar of Arts and Cultural events with over 1,000 events and 1,200 organizations and venues currently listed on the site. Artsopolis also offers listings for arts-related jobs, workshops, auditions, volunteer opportunities, individual artist profiles, full price ticketing, and eSavers, a weekly email offering half-price tickets to Arts events. Artsopolis is a free and easy marketing tool for all arts disciplines in the Silicon Valley. Artsopolis is non-profit, locally based in downtown San Jose, and staffed with 6 full time employees who are involved with the arts themselves outside their work.
Who is Artsopolis?
Artsopolis is a program of Arts Council Silicon Valley (ACSV), in partnership with the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau. The program is funded by The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and the City of San Jose. ACSV established this marketing program to support and enhance the marketing and audience development activities of Arts and Cultural organizations in the Silicon Valley region.

Artsopolis provides comprehensive and easily accessible information for Arts enthusiasts, including: Arts-related events searchable by discipline, venue, organization, date range, and keyword, and it provides a place to watch videos previews of the events, to post reviews and browse artist profiles.The eSavers ½ price ticket offers inspire new participation at risk free prices and as of August, 2009 has 16,000 subscribers on the list. This IS your target audience.
For Arts Organizations:
Exposure with Ease:
Providing organizations of all sizes the opportunity to promote their upcoming events is key to the mission of Artsopolis. Organizations submit their events to appear on the calendar for free. Listings include links to these organizations’ websites, video and image galleries, ticket links and a place for outside reviews. The site even hosts a top ten list powered by user reviews. By submitting your event using this link: http://www.artsopolis.com/submit/event your event will show up on as many as 7 (and growing all the time) other local sites powered by Artsopolis including the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau, Artsopoliskids.com (First 5), Inticketing.com, the Silicon Valley Community Newspapers, San Mateo County, City of Saratoga, and the San Jose Downtown Association. Listing is free, as is participation in our weekly eSavers ½ price ticket email, but we have a variety of additional website banner and email marketing pay options as well to maximize your exposure and fit your budget.
Online Ticketing:
Our ticketing is quick and convenient for your customers with 24 hour a day access. By allocating tickets through Artsopolis it helps to maximize the manpower required to run a box office. Plus it automatically captures the email and snail mail addresses of buyer you can then use in targeted marketing campaigns, surveys, and thank you notes. Full, half, discounted tickets, multiple price points, early bird specials, subscriptions, passes, or any other type of ticket pretty much that you can think of can be done through Artsopolis. And, Artsopolis will provide you with html coded buy button graphics with direct links to your events ticketing so you can post on your site (and partner’s sites) so as to specifically target your traffic and further increase exposure. Artsopolis fields any and all tech questions, allowing customers to talk to real people with no extra work for the presenting arts organization. Your checks are mailed to you within 2 weeks after the close of your event. Login system provides you with 24/7 access and a level of customization and assistance that best fits your box office needs. Customized features such as a phone number to direct buyers in the case that the online allocations are depleted, instructions on the confirmation about where to go when you get there etc. A 10 ticket minimum allocation is all it takes to get started with this flexible and customizable system.
