    Kerri Lawnsby

    Visual Artist

About the artist: As I was growing up, my parents always emphasized to me that I could do anything I wanted, as long as I put my mind towards it. In college I found out what it was I wanted to do---I wanted to paint. I studied painting under the instruction of New York professional artists while at Smith College in Northampton, MA. The college invited professionals to teach studio art classes for a semester at a time, and provided students with an invaluable education.

Since graduating in 1991, I have continued to pursue my art in the Bay Area of California. I have participated in weekly art critiques led by artist and mentor Grace Gibson, a protégée of Earl Pearce (student to Hans Hoffmann), since 1992. I have also furthered my art education at University of California Santa Cruz Extension and Pacific Art League in Palo Alto over the years.
In 2001, I began exhibiting at art fairs in northern California as well as at local venues.
