Jungle Jane
Jungle Jane
In 1998, Santa Cruz, CA artist FRED HUNNICUTT installed "Jungle Jane" in the eastern median at the intersection of California Avenue and Birch Street. This aluminum sculpture stands 9' tall and 6' wide and is composed of metal rods. Hunnicutt's unique work takes the shape of a face pushed through a piece of paper and is, in that sense, both two- and three-dimensional. His work can be seen in many Bay Area cities. “Jungle Jane” was commissioned by the Public Art Commission and funded by the California Avenue Area Development Association (CAADA), the City of Palo Alto, and private contributions.
