I saw a sample of this show at their performance for the Santana Row Performing Arts Day, and the three actors in the show were hilarious. It's a quick-paced show, and these guys have the right chemistry to pull it off brilliantly. I've seen the show (by another theatre company) before, and had a great time - Shakespeare doesn't have to be stuffy! Collapse

The language they use is an important part of how conservatives have been able to dominate the national agenda. All too often, progressives and media folks help them do so by unwittingly using terms that reinforce the conservatives' positions. George Lakoff is an expert on decoding political language, and a clear and engaging speaker. You're guaranteed to learn something important from his talks. "Freedom" is going to continue to be one of the hot topics in American political discourse. Progressives need to learn how to talk about freedom in ways that express effectively what WE mean when WE use that word. Collapse

I've listened to Slayer for nearly 20 yrs and have seen them countless times. I must say they blew the doors off and showed the accompaning bands (Children of Bodum, Mastadon, and Lamb of God) just what complete metal mayhem is all about. The set started off with South of Heaven and went into Silent Scream. War Ensemble and Blood Red followed. Mandatory Suicide, God Hates us All, Season in the Abyss, Chemical Warfare, Dead Skin Mask, Cult, Hell Awaits, Anti-Christ, Raining Blood, Angel of Death rounded out one of the most finely performed and totally hardcore sets I have seen them play since I was 17. Lamb of God was great, but musically they are not as diversified and quite as EVIL as Slayer. Slayer, The Kings of Metal still reign and I expect it to stay that way for years to come. Collapse

Neil Simon's sharp comments on couples, friendship, and culture clash are reason enough to go see this show. His vignettes are fun, but rarely fluffy, and often illuminating. If you need another reason to buy a ticket, there are 5 very talented actors in this production. They skillfully navigate moments ranging from sardonic to poignant, from ridiculous to achingly real. Simon is at his best in "California Suite," Northside Theatre Company's latest production. The characters are smartly written and sharply defined. What makes Simon's play a successful experience is intelligence of the cast. For this production, the Northside Theatre folk simply excel. This ensemble is a treat. Quick, sharp and smart, with a flair for character flamboyance, Baxley and Greenwood and Reimer and Pease make Simon's work a delight. And it's a unique idea. Take a room, any room, and many, many stories exist. If you've ever wanted to play the role of the proverbial fly-on-the-wall, Neil Simon's, "California Suite," presented by Northside Theatre Company, is the place to be. Collapse
